Privacy policy
This notice explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it and what your rights are, under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

What data we collect
Data you send us with the contact form
First name, last name, e-mail address, phone number, type of request and the text of your message. We also record the date and time it was sent.
Browsing data
Like any website, the server hosting this site automatically records some technical data on each visit (for example IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type). This data is needed to run the site and to protect it from abuse.
Cookies and statistics tools
We use a technical cookie to remember your cookie choices and, only with your consent, Google Analytics and Google Maps. Details are in the Cookie policy.

Providing the contact form data is optional, but without it we cannot reply to you.
How we process the data
Data is processed electronically, with appropriate security measures, only by authorised people and only for the purposes stated. We do not use the data for automated decisions or profiling.
Who we share the data with
Data is not made public. The following may process it on our behalf, as processors:
- the website hosting provider (Aruba S.p.A., Italy), which hosts the site and sends the contact form messages;
- our e-mail provider (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, Microsoft 365 service), where we receive your messages and reply from;
- Google Ireland Limited (Gmail service), because contact form messages also reach a Gmail mailbox of the controller;
- Google Ireland Limited, for Google Analytics and Google Maps, only if you have given consent.
Transfers of data outside the European Union
If you consent to Google Analytics or Google Maps, some data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States. Microsoft may also transfer data to Microsoft Corporation in the United States for the e-mail service. Google LLC and Microsoft Corporation participate in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognised as adequate in its decision of 10 July 2023.
How long we keep the data
- Contact form data: for as long as needed to handle your request and, if a business relationship follows, for the period required by law (for example for tax purposes).
- Browsing data: for the period set by the hosting provider for security purposes.
- Cookies: for the period stated in the Cookie policy.
Your rights
At any time you can ask the controller for:
- access to your data (Art. 15 GDPR);
- rectification (Art. 16) or erasure (Art. 17);
- restriction of processing (Art. 18);
- data portability (Art. 20);
- to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21).
Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before. For cookies, use the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page.
To exercise your rights, write to amministrazione@ecocentrotrieste.it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).
